| Introducing
Family N.E.T
Family N.E.T. is a new partnership – an integration of mental health and social services for children, youth and families – between Catawba County Social Services and Mental Health Services of Catawba County opening on July 1, 2004. Family N.E.T. is being called “creative, groundbreaking, and a great opportunity for our community.” The integrated network of Family N.E.T. is crafted in response to North Carolina's Mental Health Reform legislation that requires area mental health programs to divest in service delivery and establish an alternative service delivery system by July 2004. |

The merger makes perfect
sense due to the strong relationship between both agencies; their commitment
to serve youth and families with high-level needs; and, the joint desire
to see all citizens in need served. “Family N.E.T. enables us to be more effective in the lives of children with serious mental and emotional problems than we could be as two separate entities. As a result, Catawba County’s children and their families will benefit greatly from the improvements in service delivery that this partnership produces,” says Dr. Cappelletty.
