Intensive Family Preservation: The focus of intensive preservation is to ensure a child at high risk of removal from the home can be safely maintained with the family through crisis intervention, provision of basic needs, parent training, and family counseling. The family is followed by a single social worker who works intensely with a family member for ten hours a week for up to six weeks. The maximum caseload for the social worker is four families. All services are provided in the home, school, or other settings in the community. The social worker is available to the family 24 hours per day, seven days per week via pager.
Family Preservation Services: Family Preservation services are meant to maintain children safely in the home where the risk of removal is moderate. The family has a single licensed therapist who is available to provide individual and family therapy, parent training, and assistance with concrete
needs. Services may last up to three months with a maximum of three contacts per week, dependent upon the level of need. The therapist may carry up to six families at any given time. The social worker is available to the family 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
Family Reunification Services: Family reunification services are available to foster children who are returning to the home of their biological families. Services are provided by a single social worker for up to six months, depending on the level of need. Services include case management, parent training, concrete nees, referral and advocacy, and counseling. All services are provided in the home, the school, or other community settings. The social worker works with as many as four families at any given time and is available to the family 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
