The Children’s Services Unit of Family NET provides services to children age 3-12 years of age. Services are based on a detailed assessment conducted during the first session. Parents, the child and the therapist work as a team to decide which services would be of most benefit to both the client and the family. Services might include but are not limited to family therapy, individual

outpatient therapy, interactive play and art therapy, group therapy, psychiatric assessment and medication checks, psychological testing and/or referral for a more in depth diagnostic assessment. Referral s are made to Children’s Services for a variety of reasons such as grief and loss issues, adjustment problems, sexual abuse issues, poor social skills, hyperactivity leading to poor impulse control, anger management problems and behavior problems at home or in school. In addition to seeing clients in the Family NET office complex, therapists are also located in most area elementary and middle schools as well as the Children’s Advocacy Center. The Family NET Children’s Services Team believes that teaching healthy coping and social skills to children and their families will greatly increase their chance for success in adolescence and adulthood.
